Thank you so much for this timely message. It has come at a time when I was experiencing a similar thing to the people who asked Jesus to leave. In a way I was because I am currently assisting a man of God to conduct bible school in our city. Prior to these I have applied for jobs without success. This made me feel like the price was too much to pay coz I expected God to have moved in my situation as I was busy with His work. I began to recent working for God and I was slowly advising myself about working for God. I found it too demanding and I never had time to do my things. Thank God| for this devotional as it has made me to ask for forgiveness and to rethink my position. I will now work for God and leave the rest to Him. Im very grateful and may God bless you.
Depart From Us
This is one of the saddest sentences in the Gospels. We can scarcely imagine anyone asking Jesus to go away. He had come to their community to bring rich blessings. His hands were full of gifts. He had the power to heal the sick, to open blind eyes, to make the lame walk - to freely share all kinds of blessings among the people. He had begun His work of grace as soon as He arrived by curing their most terrible case of demon-possession. He would done other works of mercy and love if they had not begged Him to leave. It was probably all because of the loss of the pigs. If that was the way Christ's work was going to affect them, they did not want Him to do anyhting else!
Some people feel the same way when a work of grace begins in their community. They are opposed to Christianity because it interferes with their business. Anyone who gets upset at Christianity and Christians often get that way because they know that deep down it would bring significant changes into their lives if they accepted the message of truth. They are against Christianity because Christianity is against them. So all of us are apt to want Christ to depart from us when He interferes with our cherished plans. We need to be careful for fear that we would send Christ altogether away from us.
Jesus did not stay after these people asked Him to leave. He would not stay where He was not wanted. He left with the gifts He had come share. The sick remained unhealed that He would have healed, the crippled continued to be crippled, the demoniacs remained possessed, and the dying whom Jesus could have restored passed away.
Does anyone now ever ask Christ to depart when He comes with blessings? Does Jesus never turn away from any heart now because He is not wanted, because He is rejected?
I love God so much. I can't seem to get up and go to church on Sunday. I'm always tired or feeling sick. Why is that:P

It is just what you said, you feel tired or sick but you are healed. I have been there and I know I am not alone. Satan does not desire for you to be healed delivered and set free. We are to be hears and doers of Gods word. This means in isaiah when it tells us we were healed by the stripe of Jesus then so be it we are healed. Start speaking the word of God out loud before you rise everyday, do not let it just be on a Sunday. Let it be every day to feed your spirit. Whatever you are going through and are held bound to give it over to Jesu it's already worked out you have to open minded to see you are free!
I hope this helped your spirit man be filled!
Love God continually and let nothing desperate you from Him who is able to keep you from falling.
May His Grace be upon you
Blessings
I was touched by this message, you know in life a lot of Christians want God to do things according to what they want, but God works in his own ways not known to man.
It is very touching
thought provoking, little do we realise that with all the gadget the world is presenting to us so called 'christians',we leave for church on Sunday,we leave Jesus outside the building,we walk in with our iphone, ipods etc,and pretend to worship.

I will make this plain and to the point. I have found over the years why People reject Jesus is because they FEEL Christians suffer too much and people do not want to let go of their current situation and that's the world. People are content with their life styles so why should they add this Jesus I cannot see feel or touch. Sometimes we as a people override our judgement because our lack of judgement and not seeing the bigger picture. Whether or not you believe it or not we are all going to die, judgement is cOming and Christ the Annointed One is returning. The first priority is getting our houses , this church in sI many words together. I believe the people FEEL it is too many responsibilities but God gave the main responsibility to Jesus and that's to come die and sit at His right hand. And that's order that is why He who was and still to come never forsaked us. We left Him or never desired to follow Him in the first place.
My desire is that we all embrace Jesus as our Lord, but all are not willing.
Kingdom blessings!

I don't know if Jesus is vindictive like that...... would He really turn away just because His pride got injured?
That's a human trait. We are not faithful. Jesus is God, perfect, and would set the example of a loving father to errant children.
