Today, I Pray: My Sheep Know My Voice

Heavenly Father God, I prepare my heart to hear Your voice today. I ask You, Father God, to forgive me of all my sins forgive me for all of my sins, iniquities, trespasses, transgressions, sins of commission, sins of omission, sins that I know I have committed and sins which I do not recall.  Please forgive me for doubting You and Your word, for my unbelief, distrust and not abiding in You Lord Jesus. Forgive me for not letting Your Word abide in me at all times. I forgive everyone that has hurt me and help anyone forgive me whom I may have hurt. I receive Your forgiveness and cleansing from all unrighteousness, Father God, in Jesus Name.

I release every thought which is not of You, Father God, casting down vain imaginations and bringing my thoughts captive so that I may only obey Jesus Christ. I choose to listen for and hear Your voice above all others, Lord God. Help me to be still before You in my thoughts, Lord God, so that I may hear from the Holy Spirit, and be led by the peace that comes.

Help me to obey Your directions when I hear them. I resist every obstacle that would be used to stop me from hearing Your voice and obeying Your will for my life, Lord God. I submit to You, Lord God, I resist the devil and he must flee from me.

I expect to hear from You, Lord God. I yield myself to hear Your voice and none other. I will read Your word and listen to sound teaching of Your word so that I may know Your voice when I hear it. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who enables me to hear and recognize Your voice. Thank You for a relationship in which You speak and I listen, and I speak and You listen. What a joy it is to hear from You, my Lord God! It is my desire to please You, Lord God. I am Your sheep, I hear Your voice, and the voice of another I will never follow. In Jesus Name, Amen.

HEAR GOD THROUGH SCRIPTURE: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKING THROUGH YOUR HEART: "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen, and everyone his brother, saying, 'know the Lord,' for all will know Me, from the least to the greatest of them" (Hebrews 8:10-11).

CONFIRM THE WORD YOU’VE HEARD:  "By the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed" (Matthew 18:16).

BE LED BY THE PEACE OF GOD: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful" (Colossians 3:15).
